Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Celebrating 20th Anniversary Of Debut Album With Global Tour
Indie darling Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled album with a global tour in 2025, visiting theaters and clubs in the U.S. starting in March before going overseas to play some shows in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
The North American leg of the tour kicks off at The Atlantis in Washington, D.C., on March 31 and includes stops at Terminal West in Atlanta, Austin’s Scoot Inn, Regent Theater in Los Angeles, Seattle’s Crocodile Café, Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City, Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Great Hall in Toronto and New York’s Webster Hall before closing out with a special homecoming performance at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on May 10.
The rock band then travels to Leffinge, Belgium, for the Leffingeleuren Festival on Sept. 14, and the European leg includes concerts at Button Factory in Dublin, Ireland; London, England’s EartH; Metro Theatre in Sydney, Australia; and the Tuning Fork in Auckland, New Zealand.
Additional European dates and shows in Japan, Central America and South America will be announced soon.

Coinciding with the global trek, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will release a limited edition vinyl via the band’s own label, Secretly Distribution. The band also premiered the original 2004 version of the fan-favorite track “Heavy Metal,” which is available everywhere.
“I guess I didn’t think this original version of ‘Heavy Metal’ sat very well on the album once we started recording some of the later songs (‘The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth,’ ‘Is This Love?,’ etc.) so I decided the song should be changed even though the original (as a standalone single) had always worked,” Clap Your Hands Say Yeah frontman Alec Ounsworth said in a release. “Now that I listen to the original ‘Heavy Metal’ remixed and mastered, I realize it very well could (should?) have been on the album itself. I really like both versions of ‘Heavy Metal’ but 20 years later I think I’ve come to appreciate this one a little more. The rest of the album has this excitement too of course but the earliest songs speak even more to a certain innocence around that time which I try hard not to forget.”
The band hailing from Philadelphia has played small shows and performed at festivals the past several years, including an Another Planet Entertainment-promoted concert at The Independent in San Francisco on July 19, 2022, that grossed $7,280 off 364 tickets, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is repped by Concerted Efforts in North America, South America, Asia and Australia. Paul McGivern of PlayBook Artists books their shows in Europe and the U.K.
