Bobby Weir does not appear to be slowing down
Dead & Company this week announced a spring March-though-May run of 18 shows at the Sphere.
It’s D&C’s second engagement at the globe-shaped technological wonder that’s added a new element to the Las Vegas skyline and comes two years after the band concluded its final tour.
When the band concluded its first Sphere run in August of this year, rumors were already flying through Deadhead nation about a spring return.
The players, notably original Grateful Dead rhythm guitarist Bobby Weir, have been anything but dormant since then.au
Weir continues to gig with a couple of iterations of Wolf. Bros., including December 27-31 at the 2,700-seat Au-Rene Theater at Broward Center for Performing Arts with a band dubbed The Wolfpack, featuring Don Was and all D&C members, save lead guitarist John Mayer. Weir will gig with the Wolf Bros. Trio Jan. 2-3, 2025, at Wells Hall at the Parker, a 1,200-seater, also in Ft. Lauderdale.
Then, Bobby Weir’s Dead Ahead returns to Mexico playing Riviera Cancun Jan. 9-13.
Tickets for the Sphere shows start at $145 all-inclusive and go on sale to the public on Dec. 13.
Live Nation’s Vibee Destinations is reprising its package deals and the Dead Forever Experience at the Venetian, which connects by covered walkway to the venue.
