California-based promoter and AEG Presents subsidiary Goldenvoice has named Lea Swanson vice president of talent, a new role that sees her acting as talent buyer for multiple venues.

Swanson will be sole buyer for the Mountain Winery in Northern California and contribute as talent buyer for multiple venues in Los Angeles including Peacock Theatre, the Shrine Auditorium and open venues including Greek Theater and Dolby Theatre, according to the announcement. Her purview will include other one-off shows in markets including Orange County, Bakersfield, Fresno and Hawaii. She will report to Goldenvoice chief operating officer Melissa Ormond.

“It is exciting to be offered an opportunity to continue to grow this far into my career,” Swanson said in the announcement. “After over 17 years with AEG Presents in my home market of San Diego and supporting numerous casino clients, I feel fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to step into this elevated role. A year after accepting the lead booking role at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, having the chance to grow and promote shows in one of the primary music markets in North America was an opportunity I had to take. I’m enthusiastic about what’s ahead and look forward to contributing to the continued success in all our markets.”

Added Ormond: “Lea’s track record speaks for itself.  Her breadth of experience, combined with her innate ability to know what will resonate with audiences across a variety of different venues and genres, make her uniquely qualified for this position.  I’m thrilled to elevate Lea to this new role, and I’m looking forward to working even more closely with her.”

Swanson’s music industry career started in 1999 at Viejas Casino as part of the team that developed the 1,500-capacity Viejas Concerts in the Park venue. She went on to serve in multiple roles in the San Diego office, including director of finance and talent buyer.

Swanson’s appointment to the new role comes one day after the retirement announcement of Goldenvoice Senior Vice President Susan Rosenbluth, whose career spanned decades and time at Goldenvoice included major California venues.
