Billy Joel and Rod Stewart are set to co-headline Yankee Stadium for one night on July 18. Both artists are expected to perform songs from throughout their classic catalogs, with Joel also making history as the first musical act to headline both the original Yankee Stadium (for his June 22 and 23 shows in 1990) and the new Yankee Stadium.

“We are thrilled to host Billy Joel and Rod Stewart this summer at Yankee Stadium,” Scott Krug, New York Yankees Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, said in a statement. “Their timeless catalogs and impact on the history of rock and roll cannot be overstated, and we expect a magical evening with them in the Bronx. It is also particularly fitting that Billy Joel, who was born in the Bronx and is so iconically identified with New York, will become the first musical act to headline a show at both the original Yankee Stadium and the current Yankee Stadium.”

Joel is booked by his longtime agent, Independent Artist Group’s Dennis Arfa. Among the 401 reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice dating back from 1999, Joel has sold 10.7 million tickets grossing a total of $1.2 billion. He wrapped up his monthly residency at the famed Madison Square Garden last July with 150 lifetime shows at the venue, which grossed an average of $5 million per night.

Rod Stewart is also booked by Dennis Arfa. Among 647 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice since 1999, Rod Stewart has sold 7.9 million tickets grossing a total of $732 million.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. ET.
