Kenny Chesney First Country Artist To Headline Sphere

Kenny Chesney is making history as the first country music artist to headline Sphere, the singer announcing a residency at the renowned venue starting in May. He’ll be performing 12 dates at the venue from May 22 to June 14.
Chesney revealed he agreed to play at the venue – which has already hosted performances from U2, Dead & Company, Eagles, Phish and Afterlife Presents: Anyma – without yet stepping foot in Sphere. Since first opening in September 2023, Sphere has garnered worldwide recognition for its state-of-the-art technology including 167,000 individual speakers and fully immersive, 160,000-square foot, 171 million pixel screen wrapped up, down and around the Sphere.
“I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,” Chesney said in a statement. “Over the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how these songs are part of their lives. When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more.
“When we started talking about all of the possibilities playing Sphere offered, I was all in. Just the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly dialed in sound raises the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, visuals, sound and being together. To me, this is going to be a whole new way of rocking the fans, and I can’t wait.”
Chesney’s upcoming dates have been kept under wraps for nearly a year.
He’s booked by Wasserman Music’s Mike Betterton in North America and is managed by Morris Higham Management’s Clint Higham.
Among 957 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice across Chesney’s career, he’s sold 18.7 million tickets grossing a total $1.3 billion.
“When we started talking, I flew to Vegas with my key tour team,” Chesney said. “We stood on the floor as they ran the film of U2’s show and we were completely consumed. We could see the band, but it was so much more than that. It almost took what they were doing and multiplied it to another dimension. Knowing how much intensity our shows generate, my mind started thinking about all the things we could do. Once you see how the show wraps all the way around you, the dreaming begins.”
Tickets go on sale starting Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. PT. Fans can access tickets ahead of time through Vibee, with VIP and hotel packages now available for purchase.
