Coldplay spent the weekend in India, continuing to set records with its “Music Of The Spheres World Tour.” The band’s Jan. 25-26 shows at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat hosted more than 111,000 fans each night, marking the biggest performances of the band’s career and two of the largest stadium concerts of the 21st century.

Fans in India were also able to enjoy the shows from the comfort of their own homes, thanks to the Disney+ Hotstar livestream.

The setlist included “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “Clocks,” “Fix You,” “Viva La Vida,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full Of Stars,” “Hymn For The Weekend,” “Adventure Of A Lifetime,” “My Universe” and “Higher Power.”

As previously reported, Coldplay has made history with the “Music Of The Spheres World Tour,” which began in 2022.

The “Music of the Spheres World Tour” has shown the rest of the music business what’s possible when an artist is guided by values, with the talent, charisma and a devoted fanbase to go along with it. The excursion has become one of the most sustainable tours as well as earning Coldplay the distinction of selling more tickets than any artist on a single trek ever and being the first band to gross $1 billion – and counting — on a tour. (The billion-dollar breakthrough follows Taylor Swift becoming the first solo artist to do so with her “The Eras Tour.”)

In June 2024, Coldplay achieved another historic landmark, with an update that direct CO2 emissions from the first two years of the band’s ongoing “Music Of The Spheres World Tour” are 59% less than its previous stadium tour – exceeding its 2021 pledge to reduce carbon emissions by 50%.

Luke Howell, who serves as sustainability officer for Coldplay, told Pollstar that the team was able to lower its carbon emissions by trying to implement ways to reduce impacts across all aspects of the show “including energy, transport, merch and materials – such as more efficient lighting and audio equipment.”

Coldplay returns to the road in April for shows in Hong Kong and Seoul, South Korea. In May, the band heads back to North America, with stops including Las Vegas, Denver, Toronto, Boston, Nashville and Miami. And in August and September Chris Martin & Co. play the U.K., including 10 sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, booked Aug. 22 through Sept. 8. By the time that run of gigs concludes, the band will have sold more than 12.8 million tickets

Support on the upcoming dates include Marf, TWICE, Willow, Elyanna and Ayra Starr.

Coldplay is represented worldwide (excluding North America) by agent Josh Javor of WME. The band is booked in Canada and the U.S. by Wasserman’s Marty Diamond and Larry Webman.
