Simple Minds Embarking On North American ‘Alive & Kicking Tour’

Influential United Kingdom band Simple Minds is embarking on their biggest North American headline tour in four decades, visiting arenas and amphitheaters across the country with Soft Cell and Modern English supporting.
“Been a while but absence makes the heart grow fonder,” vocalist Jim Kerr said in a statement. “Simple Minds are ecstatic at the prospect of touring so extensively in the U.S. and Canada this coming spring.
The “Alive & Kicking Tour” promoted by Live Nation coincides with the 40th anniversary of the band’s banner year when their massively successful hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, which was written for the iconic film “The Breakfast Club,” and their RIAA Gold-certified album Once Upon A Time. The trek kicks off at Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington, and the routing includes stops at Kia Forum in the Los Angeles area, Acrisure Arena in the Greater Palm Springs, Denver’s Ball Arena, Moody Center in Austin, Philadelphia’s The Mann Center and Budweiser Stage in Toronto before wrapping up at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, on June 22.
Artists presales begin Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. local time and additional presales will run throughout the week leading up to the general onsale, which starts Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. local time. For information about tickets, visit www.simpleminds.com/tour.
2025 not only marks the band’s big return to North America but also the arrival of a new single. The band released “Your Name In Lights” to celebrate the BBC premiere of “Simple Minds: Everything Is Possible,” a documentary about the band currently streaming in the U.K. with U.S. broadcast details soon to be released.
Simple Minds visited the States last year to perform a set at Cruel World in Pasadena. They also played shows across European, including two sold-out dates at The OVO Hydro in Glasgow which grossed a total of $1,917,632 off 22,956 tickets, according to Pollstar Boxoffice. The band is repped by Creative Artists Agency worldwide and managed by Elaine Gwyther of Quietus Management.
