The nominations for The BRIT Awards 2025 have been unveiled via the show’s official Instagram and Facebook channels. The winners will be announced during the live show at The O2, London, March 1.

The 2025 BRIT Awards ceremony will be hosted by Jack Whitehall, and broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX. The award this year has been designed by multi-disciplinary artist Gabriel Moses.

The winners of the five genre awards will be determined by a public vote on the BRITs Whatsapp channel. Voting will open January 31 at noon, and close two weeks later, on Friday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. (British time).

Charli XCX has earns the most nominations of any artist this year, with a total of five nods in the categories Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Dance Act, and Pop Act.

In four of those five categories, Charli XCX is competing with seven-time BRIT Awards winner Dua Lipa, who opened last year’s ceremony, where she also won the Pop Act category. She’s nominated as Pop Act again, as well as Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Other Album of the Year contenders are The Last Dinner Party, last year’s BRITs Rising Star winners, who also receive four nominations this year (Group of the Year, Best New Artist, and Alternative/Rock Act).

2023 Mercury Prize recipients Ezra Collective make their BRITs debut with four nominations in the same categories as The Last Dinner Party.

This year’s BRITs Rising Star winner is Myles Smith, whose award was announced at the end of last year. He is now also nominated in three main awards categories, namely Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Pop Act.

The Cure receive their first BRIT nominations in over 30 years: Album of the Year, Alternative/Rock Act, and Group of the Year.

Also nominated as Group of the Year: Coldplay, who are also up for Song of the Year, and Bring Me The Horizon, who won this award in 2024.

A landmark nomination goes to the Beatles, who are shortlisted for Song of the Year with their single “Now & Then” – released on Nov. 2, 2023, and considered their last song. It’s been nearly 50 years since the Beatles’ last BRIT nomination at the inaugural BRIT Awards in 1977.

Other British artists up for multiple awards this year include: Beabadoobee, Central Cee, Chase & Status, Fred again.., JADE, Nia Archives, Michael Kiwanuka, Rachel Chinouriri, and Sam Fender. See full shortlist below.

The winners of Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year will be revealed over the coming weeks, along with other show announcements.

Raye Breaks Record: BRIT Awards 2024 Winners

Damian Christian, managing director and president of promotions at Atlantic Records, and chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025, commented, “This year’s nominations once again showcase what an incredible array of diverse talent we have here in the UK. I’m delighted that Charli is having her moment with an amazing five nominations. Partnering with Whatsapp for the first time will add a new and exciting element to the voting process and will bring even more fans closer to the show. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees – I wish you the best of luck and let’s bring on the 1st March!”

Dr. Jo Twist OBE, BPI chief executive, added, “Showcasing a brilliant 12 months in music that saw women spend a record number of weeks at the top of the Official Singles Chart and account for half the year’s top-20 best-selling albums, it’s wonderful to see these and other achievements reflected in a diverse breadth of nominations across so many genres. It promises to be another memorable BRITs – our congratulations and best wishes to all the nominees and the record labels that help bring their human artistry to the fore.”

The BRITs Voting Academy, responsible for determining the shortlists and the overall winners for The BRIT Awards (bar Rising Star, Songwriter and Producer awards, which are voted on or decided by separate panels), is refreshed annually, drawing on updated member data, to ensure relevance and diversity across its participants.

The Voting Academy is composed of some 1,300 individuals drawn from across the music industry, including artists, managers, media, producers, publishers, record labels, retailers and more.

As the BRITs inform on their website, “for 2025, The Voting Academy achieved a balanced split of men and women and included a number of members who identified as non binary or who preferred not to specify their gender, whilst around a quarter of its members identified as Black, Asian or ethnic minority background. The Academy and the voting process is overseen by Civica – an independent voting scrutineer.”
