Black Keys Announce ‘No Rain No Flowers’ Tour

Rock duo The Black Keys have announced a spring leg of North American amphitheater dates as part of the “No Rain No Flowers Tour,” kicking off on May 23 in Oklahoma and continuing into the summer and Europe.
The duo otherwise known as Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney will be joined by Hermanos Gutierrez and The Heavy Heavy across this first leg. Tickets go on sale Feb. 7 at 10 a.m local time. The new dates follow appearances in Peru, Colombia and Mexico March 27 to April 5.
North American dates include the new Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, Red Rocks near Denver, both California Greek Theatres (Berkeley and Los Angeles), Moody Amphitheater in Austin, Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh and Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey, June 14, the final date of the tour leg.
Those dates are followed by Europe dates from June 26 to July 16, with countries including Denmark, France, the UK, Belgium, Italy and more.
The “No Rain No Flowers Tour” comes after last year’s North American arena tour was canceled, which the band acknowledges in today’s tour announcement.
“After the tour was canceled, the consensus was, ‘Shit happens, and you just have to move through it,’” drummer Patrick Carney says. “We were already on a creative streak, and the best thing we could do, rather than sit at home, was just go back in the studio. Get back to work. So, that’s how the record started.”
On that note, a new album is promised later this year, via Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label.
“Writing and recording has always been therapy for us, from the very beginning. We communicate best that way,” adds guitarist Dan Auerbach. “It has always been the thing that’s brought us together, so I’m not surprised at all that we ended up back there so quickly after the last album.”
The Black Keys are represented by CAA.
