Kendrick Lamar & SZA Add European Dates, Crush Super Bowl Halftime

Following yesterday’s Super Bowl Halftime performance that featured a collaboration between the duo, Kendrick Lamar and SZA have announced 13 UK/Europe stadium dates as part of their “Grand National Tour.”
Presented by Live Nation, pgLang and Top Dawg Entertainment, dates begin July 2 in Cologne, Germany, after which the tour will play the UK (four dates), the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland and Sweden.
Presales begin Wednesday, Feb. 12 and run through Feb. 13, with general onsale Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. local time.
Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at the recently renovated Caesars Superdome brought some excitement and suspense to a game that had gotten out of hand for the slight-favorite Kansas Chiefs, who were down 24-0 at the half after being completely smothered by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Introduced and accompanied by the comforting scowl of “Uncle Sam,” Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson, the show featured the usual cavalcade of choreographed dancers, utilizing the whole length of the football field and providing panoramic views of the spectacle to those watching from home.
After adding to his already massive collection of trophies at the Grammys just a few weeks ago, the critically acclaimed and popularly admired rapper delivered the billion-streaming, combination counter-culture anthem and diss track “Not Like Us,” although notably omitting the word “pedophiles” that had been aimed toward rival rapper and also-superstar Drake.
SZA joined Lamar on stage for “Luther” and “All the Stars.”
Lamar’s confident swagger continues the Super Bowl halftime’s trend toward younger, edgier performers than in decades past, notable when considering more than half the players in the league identify as Black or African American and with an average age of 26 years old.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA are both listed as represented by Wasserman Music.
