Sacramento Venue Channel 24 Announces Death Cab, Empire Of The Sun, Denzel Curry Among Initial Lineup, Opening In April

Sacramento’s newest music venue, Channel 24, has announced its first batch of shows, opening April 24 with Tucker Wetmore and with another 16 shows on the books already taking the calendar into October.

The 2,150-capacity venue, developed and operated by Another Planet Entertainment, broke ground last spring and is now set to host artists including Empire of The Sun, Death Cab for Cutie, Denzel Curry, Wallows, Madness, Tycho, Tucker Wetmore, Sierra Ferrell, and more.

Venue Presale begins Thursday, February 27 at 10am PT, and General On-Sale begins Friday, February 28 at 10am PT.

“We are super excited about this, because there’s a hole in the market,” Allen Scott, Another Planet Entertainment’s president of concerts and festivals, said in a previous interview announcing the venue. Sacramento’s downtown is home to the 1,000-capacity Ace Of Spades, operated by Live Nation, and Golden 1 Center arena for the Sacramento Kings, but was in dire need of a larger club-style venue. “We’ve had so many artists since we opened 20 years ago want to play Sacramento, but there’s no appropriate size venue for them.”

Channel 24 joins Another Planet’s West Coast venue portfolio that includes the Fox Theater in Oakland, California; Greek Theatre in Berkeley; Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, The Independent and Castro Theatre in San Francisco; and Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena in Stateline, Nevada, as well as Outside Lands festival in San Francisco.

The company is also co-promoter of The Bellwether in Los Angeles, which opened last year in partnership with Michael Swier of Teragram Presents.

Mike Testa, President & CEO of Visit Sacramento, adds, “We are excited to see an industry pioneer like Another Planet Entertainment invest in and expand Sacramento’s burgeoning music scene. Our city is full of great history when it comes to local music and music venues, and the addition of Channel 24 to our market will bring a long list of new entertainment opportunities to our city and region.”
