Jack White, Lord Huron Top Maine’s Inaugural Back Cove Festival

A new multi-day festival has entered the live music landscape, and it will be held in Portland, Maine. GoodWorks and Shore Sound Entertainment announced the inaugural Back Cove Music & Arts Festival will take place at Payson Park on Aug. 2 and 3 with Jack White and Lord Huron as headliners.
Other major acts performing at the waterfront park in the heart of Portland include André 3000, Lucy Dacus, Turnpike Troubadours, Margo Price, Thee Sacred Souls, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Ripe, Chance Peña and Griffin William Sherry.
General admission and VIP tickets will be available beginning March 6 at noon ET via BackCoveFestival.com. Single-day and two-day passes are offered, and locals have access to the presale now through March 5 by entering their zip code as they purchase tickets.
In addition to a stellar lineup and picturesque setting, the Back Cove Music & Arts Festival will highlight the Portland arts as well as the local culinary and brewery scene. The city won Bon Appetit’s Restaurant City of the Year honor back in 2018 and currently has more breweries per capita of any city in the U.S.
“Producing a music and arts festival with the city of Portland is a great privilege for us,” Jordan Wolowitz of Shore Sound and Tyler Grill of Goodworks said in a joint statement. “Portland is made up of an incredible community of creatives, home to a world-class food and beverage scene, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s in one of the most beautiful areas in the country. We are thrilled to introduce the Back Cove Music & Arts Festival to the city, and through it, put a focus on the musicians, restaurants, food-trucks, breweries, and artists that make Portland and the great state of Maine such a special place.”
Shore Sound and GoodWorks are indie live event companies based in New England and have produced events such as Governors Ball in New York City. Capitol Groove in Hartford, Connecticut; Soundside/Sound On Sound in Bridgeport, Connecticut; Zootown in Missoula, Montana; and Rhythm and Roots in Charleston, Rhode Island.
“The people of Portland, Maine are known nationwide as champions of art, music, food, and culture,” said Maine City Councilmember of District 4 Anna Y. Bullett. “I am excited to collaborate with GoodWorks & Shore Sound Entertainment to bring a world-class line-up of musicians to Payson Park on the beautiful Back Cove this coming August. I thank the community for their continued commitment to celebrating the arts and thank city staff for their hard work with festival organizers to maintain park access, safety, and sustainability.”
