The Head & The Heart are gearing up to set out on tour, starting on May 31 in Detroit. The band will make appearances in Boston, Atlanta, New Orleans, New York, Los Angeles and more before wrapping up in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Oct. 10. With 49 dates scheduled and Futurebirds, Anna graves, Wild Rivers, Marfa, Wilderado, Katie Pruitt, The Teskey Brothers, Tyler Ballgame and Johon Vincent III slated to make appearances throughout the length of the tour, The Head & The Heart also unveil their new album, Aperture, due to be released on May 9.

“I believe we’ve made a very great record together and obviously the title is an important aspect of the final product,” says group member Matty Gervais in a statement. “For me, Aperture represents the choice we all must make between resigning ourselves to darkness, or letting the light in and recognizing our own agency to do so. It feels relevant to the times, in that we’re literally choosing between authoritarianism vs. democracy. Ignorance vs. enlightenment on a macro scale, and complacency/cynicism vs. hope, empathy and perseverance on the micro scale. To me, it sums up a lot of what each of these songs is grappling with in some form and what we’ve collectively gone through as a band. It’s about choosing hope again and again, no matter how many times it may feel that you have lost it.”

The Head & The Heart are managed by Crush Music’s Bob McLynn and Jonathan Daniel. Among 219 submitted reports to Pollstar’s Boxoffice dating back to 2010, the band has sold 472,789 tickets grossing $17.7 million.
