Willie Nelson is bringing his annual 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks back to Austin, Texas, this year. The 2025 edition of the party will take place on Independence Day at Germania Insurance Amphitheater and will feature the iconic singer and his band as well as Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep At The Wheel and Tami Neilson.
“I’m 92 years old and I’ll be there so you have no excuse,” Willie Nelson said in a statement. “I look forward to bringing back my annual 4th of July Picnic to the city I love and sharing this special event with all my Austin fans.”
The event will feature about eight hours of live music, food, drinks and fireworks to celebrate the birth of America. Tickets go on sale to the public March 7 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com.
Held annually — though it was virtual in 2020 — the picnic began in 1973 at the Hurlbut Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas, and with only a few exceptions — jaunts to Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, Georgia and last year in New Jersey — been held in Nelson’s beloved Lone Star State and from 2015 through 2023 had been held in Austin.
Nelson is repped by Creative Artists Agency and managed by Mark Rothbaum. The 92-year-old singer already has several 2025 shows under his belt, including a concert at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater, Florida, on Feb. 15 which grossed $441,429 off 5,276 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
