Elvis Presley Fans Ready To Jump-Suit For Joy

Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis unveiled a refreshed “Elvis: Dressed to Rock” exhibit showcasing 15 newly displayed jumpsuits making their return after more than two years off display at Graceland while traveling the world as part of the “Direct from Graceland” exhibition.

This marks the first major update since the popular exhibit opened in 2022. To complement the new additions, the existing jumpsuits in the exhibit were also rotated to give visitors a fresh perspective. Located within the Elvis: The Entertainer Career Museum, the exhibit features a 21-foot floor-to-ceiling display of Elvis’ iconic stage costumes.

Some of the highlights include a white and black brocade collar suit from Presley’s first Las Vegas engagement at the International Hotel in 1969; the rope collar suit featured on the cover of Presley’s On Stage album; the blue brocade suit worn in Las Vegas in February 1970; the webbed fringe suit worn only once at the Forum in Los Angeles on Nov. 14, 1970; and a black butterfly suit from early 1972, which Presley wore during a spontaneous photo session in his hotel suite.

“These jumpsuits are not just costumes or pieces of stage wear, they are pieces of art,” said Angie Marchese, Vice President of Graceland Archives and Exhibits. “They made Elvis’ already-powerful stage performances even more memorable – defining what true rock style was.”

In addition to jumpsuits, the exhibit features Presley’s lavish belts, two-piece suits, studded boots, jewelry and trademark capes including the “Aloha from Hawaii” jumpsuit and show cape worn for the first-ever satellite concert.

Elvis: Dressed to Rock is just one of many new and refreshed exhibits happening at Graceland in 2025. In January, Graceland opened the 90 for 90 Exhibit featuring 90 curated stories told through items selected from over 1.5 million artifacts housed at the Graceland Archives. Graceland will also welcome the opening of Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii Experience featuring visuals and artifacts from the 1973 performance; Graceland in Red, a recreation of Presley’s 1974 living room with its original red French Provencal decor and furniture; and The Colonel exhibit, delving into the life of Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker.

Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) manages Graceland and its related properties, including Elvis Presley’s Memphis, Graceland’s 200K square foot entertainment and exhibition complex, the 80K square feet Graceland Exhibition Center, the 450-room resort hotel Guest House at Graceland and the Graceland Archives. EPE also produces and licenses Elvis-themed live events, tours and attractions worldwide.
