Erin Mitchell Martin
Vice President, Venues Marketing | Monumental Sports & Entertainment
ADVICE | “Never be afraid of hearing ‘No.’ A ‘No’ today prepares you for the
‘Yes’ that will come.”
FAVORITE SHOW THIS YEAR | “Usher – because it’s Usher. Enough said.”

Erin Mitchell Martin leads marketing operations for more than 350 annual events at MSE’s EagleBank Arena, District E Powered by Ticketmaster and Capital One Arena, home to the NHL Washington Capitals and NBA Washington Wizards. The venue is currently undergoing a $800 million complete renovation.
With The Capitol in Capital One Arena’s backyard, conversations about the current administration’s anti-DEI position hit close to home for Mitchell Martin.
“Political shifts won’t stop the need for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – it only makes the work more urgent,” offered Mitchell Martin, who has been with Monumental Sports & Entertainment since 2008.
“As a Black woman, I know firsthand how vital DEI is in creating opportunities and ensuring fair treatment, especially in industries where women and people of color are still underrepresented. I will continue pushing for equity by advocating for diverse hiring, amplifying marginalized voices and fostering an inclusive workplace where all women can thrive.”
Approaching 20 years in the industry, Mitchell Martin, who has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Virginia HBCU Hampton University, has advice for marginalized, young professionals of all genders.
“I remind them that they deserve their seat at the table,” she said. “If you’re the only woman or person of color in the room, don’t shrink yourself – take your rightfully earned place and own your voice. Your presence matters, and your perspective is valuable. Confidence and persistence will take you further than doubt ever will.”
Community outreach and a commitment to giving back are central to the MSE mission through supporting local talent, donating funds to organizations focused on drug awareness and support for programs like Sports Biz Careers, which introduce high school and college students to careers in sports.
“As a Black woman in this industry, I know representation and access matter at every level,” said Mitchell Martin. “Whether it’s elevating local artists, investing in education, or fostering inclusivity behind the scenes, we’re focused on making a lasting impact.”
