Gina Rotolo
VP, Marketing & Business Operations | Acrisure Arena / Coachella Valley Firebirds
FAV EVENT | “There’s nothing like the magic and mayhem of hockey playoffs.”
MENTEE ADVICE | “Collaboration, accountability and respect…”

In just over two years since opening in December of 2022, Acrisure Arena has surpassed all expectations in its impact on the Coachella Valley. Its top-notch bookings (Madonna, Harry Styles, Luis Miguel, Eagles, Reba McEntire and Janet Jackson among others), successful American Hockey League hockey team (The Coachella Valley Firebirds made it to the finals in the last two seasons) and the building’s communal and cultural contributions to the Greater Palm Springs area have energized and united the region.
“Our efforts to build community and meaningful connections is at the core of our business,” says Gina Rotolo, VP of marketing and business operations, Acrisure Arena, Coachella Valley Firebirds. “As a new brand in the Greater Palm Springs area, we have worked diligently through our sports and entertainment products across the past three seasons to unite nine very different cities and communities. As such, Acrisure Arena has become a destination and a unifier in this market sparking conversation and collaboration through sports, recreation and entertainment options throughout the year.” The arena’s developer, Oak View Group, is parent company to Pollstar.
In fact, a 2023 economic report by Tourism Economics reported that Acrisure has boosted the local economy by almost $170 million and brought in approximately 2,000 jobs, surpassing projections. To ensure its communal impact, Rotolo cites a new Acrisure nonprofit.
“Our recently formed 501c3 is committed to ensuring an inclusive community for our fans through a shared passion for sports and entertainment,” she said. “We are eager to collaborate with other like-minded organizations and individuals to create opportunities that will foster growth and development in the Coachella Valley through education, access to hockey and community initiatives.”
For Rotolo, despite changes in governmental policy, diversity remains a priority. “We are dedicated to creating safe, inclusive spaces and know that the path forward requires a variety of voices and different perspectives in order to grow,” she says. “This isn’t a check-the-box initiative, rather, this is a foundational pillar that we are building our brand and business upon.”
