When Paige Maloney spoke to Pollstar in 2023 for her client Noah Kahan’s cover story as he prepared to move into arenas, she explained that early on the focus was on “getting him in front of people that were gonna appreciate the songwriting ability that he has.” She added, “Building the fanbase from the ground up – getting support opportunities where possible,
but also getting the hard ticket business going.”

Fast forward to July 2024, and Maloney was in the audience as Kahan headlined two sold-out nights at Boston’s Fenway Park, which she now names as her favorite events she’s attended in the past year. The shows sold a combined 76,499 tickets and grossed $10.6 million.

“It’s been eight months and I’m still at a loss for words for those shows,” Maloney says. “They were beautiful and perfect and the
culmination of nearly a decade of hard work. When I say the best part of this job is helping artists make their dreams come true, these are the moments I’m talking about.”

Along with all the hard work, Maloney emphasizes that it’s important to balance that with pleasure.

When asked about advice she’d give to younger team members, she says, “There are a million ways to do this job. Do it the way that feels right and true to yourself. You don’t have to do things the way everyone else does them. The job is too hard to do in a way that doesn’t feel good for yourself. And, be human and have some fun.”

Noting that “the work is more important now than ever” when it comes to DEI, Maloney adds that it’s also necessary to find time for oneself.

She explains, “Keep fighting the good fight, but also find ways to be happy and recharge as you need. Can’t fill anyone else’s
cup if yours is empty!”

As for what’s next, Maloney says, “The fun thing about this job is that it’s never done and there’s always a next thing to work on.
I’m excited to keep showing up for my artists and learn new things every day.”
