Women of Live Hall Of Fame: Susan Genco

Susan Genco
Co-President | The Azoff Company

โ€œSusan Genco is the most inspirational, most brilliant, most dedicated person I know. She fights the good fights, is brave doing so, keeps an open mind, but knows instinctively when to stand her ground โ€“ and she is who I want to be when I grow up. And no matter what Jordan Bromley thinks, she is my best friend.โ€ โ€” Stacy Fass, ESQ

In partnership with her Co-President Elizabeth Collins, Susan Genco has taken The Azoff Company on a growth trajectory in the music industry.

Genco oversees TACโ€™s businesses including Global Music Rights, Iconic Artists Group, Giant Music, Full Stop Management and Oak View Group (Pollstarโ€™s parent company).

In February, 2024, Iconic announced a partnership with Sir Rod Stewart CBE, plus a strategic investment from HPS Investment Partners with outside financing to provide
$1 billion of capital. In just over a decade, Global Rights Management built a roster of over 150 artists and 300 publishers.

Genco said it should be no surprise that so many women artists had breakout years in 2024.

โ€œWhen men dominate the industry, do we ask why?โ€ Genco noted. โ€œWomen are succeeding because of their talent โ€“ their voices, the songs, their message and their production.โ€

She added that this is why the industry needs to continue to nurture and support all female artists, including the ones who have been attracting fans for years. And she wants to be a big part of the conversation.

โ€œIn my mind, an important part of developing and retaining top female talent is to have top female executives,โ€ she said.

In 2024, Full Stop boasted seven acts on Pollstarโ€™s 2024 Year End Top Tours Worldwide chart, including Eagles (No. 16), U2 (No. 20), Dead & Company (No. 21, co-managed with Activist Artists), Earth, Wind & Fire (which ranked No. 117 along with Chicago), Meghan Trainor (No. 173), John Mayer (No. 193) and Maroon 5
(No. 199).

Genco said that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) remains a key component of The Azoff Companyโ€™s success.

โ€œWe know from experience that it makes our businesses better to have a diverse range of perspectives in the room,โ€ she said. โ€œWe are going to continue to promote a workplace where people from all backgrounds can succeed.โ€

As a result, all Azoff divisions support the artists and the fans to be as inclusive and diverse as the people they serve. Yet, there is more to be done in this realm.

โ€œWe need to do a better job of supporting, developing and recognizing the contributions of female executives,โ€ she said. โ€œWomen are dominating on the stage and the charts, but women are still fighting to get the recognition they deserve in board rooms.โ€

Genco counts both Ali McGregor at CAA and Geni Lincoln at Live Nation as part of her personal Hall of Fame.
โ€œThey are the best at what they do and they got the job done with grace, style, efficiency and intellect,โ€ she said.

Her advice to others in the industry is simple โ€” build your network.

โ€œThis is a business of relationships, and you need to have people you can rely on who know they can rely on you,โ€ she said. โ€œI am excited to continue to build businesses that positively disrupt our industry in favor of artists and fans along with my partners, Irving Azoff, Jeffrey Azoff and my better work half, Beth Collins.โ€
