The Flaming Lips And Modest Mouse Announce Co-Headline U.S. Summer Tour

Indie stalwarts The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse will join up this summer for a tour of U.S. outdoor theaters.

The 20-date tour begins at Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy Aug. 1 and includes stops at the Salt Shed in Chicago, the Greeks in both Berkeley and Los Angeles and the Santa Barbara Bowl. The tour wraps with a double at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon, Sept. 10 and 11, a hometown show of sorts for Modest Mouse, based in nearby Portland.

Friko and Dehd will support on select dates.

All tickets go on sale March 28th at 10 a.m. local time following artist presales which begin March 26.

The tour is the return for the road for The Flaming Lips after last year’s sold-out run with Weezer and Dinosaur Jr. , which included a $1,266,339 gross at Madison Square Garden on 12,339 tickets Sept 11, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. Modest Mouse was in the theaters for their 2024 headline tour, including a sellout at the Salt Shed, grossing $186,800 on 3,301 tickets.
