Mexican Star Oscar Maydon Embarking On First US Tour

Oscar Maydon, a rising star in the música Mexicana scene, announced his first-ever U.S. tour, a 13-city trek that includes concertsin major markets like Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles.

The Mexicali-born singer’s “Rico o Muerto Tour,” which is promoted by Live Nation, kicks off July 25 at the Union Event Center in Salt Lake City. The routing includes stops at Denver’s Paramount Theatre, Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, Atlanta’s Coca Cola Roxy, 713 Music Hall in Houston, New York’s Palladium Times Square and SOMA Theater in San Diego before wrapping up on Oct. 11 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.

Tickets will be available via LiveNation.com on March 31 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages will also be offered and may include premium tickets, an opportunity to meet the artist and take a photo with him, an autographed limited edition poster, a specially designed gift item and more. Maydon is one of the top young artists in the vibrant Mexican music scene with his corridos bélicos, collaborating with standout stars like Junior H, Fuerza Regida and Natanael Cano (known as the godfather of the popular corridos tumbados genre that has dominated music charts). The 25-year-old singer has amassed 23.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is managed by Rancho Humilde, a label and entertainment company with a stellar roster that includes the three collaborators previously mentioned.

Maydon played a sold-out show at Auditorio Telmex in Zapopan, Mexico, last July and grossed $417,952 off 8,313 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
