Afterlife Festival will not be taking place in Mexico City this year, as promotion company Zamna (which works with the techno label for their Afterlife Tulum series) announced in a statement on social media. The festival was planned to take place at Hipódromo de las Americas, with Anyma (one-half of duo Tale Of Us, who run the Afterlife label) curating one night of the lineup, and Mrak (also one-half of Tale Of Us) curating the other.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Afterlife Festival Mexico City, scheduled for May 9 and 10 at Hipódromo de las Americas will not take place due to unforeseen technical and licensing issues with the venue,” Zamna said in a statement. “We explored every possible solution, but the situation prevents us from delivering the experience you deserve. The refund of the ticket plus service charges will be made automatically via Fullpass to the same card with which the purchase was made. For any further questions or clarifications, our customer service team is available to assist you via the following email: reembolosafterlife@fullpass.com.mx.”

Afterlife Festival Mexico City was announced at the same time as Afterlife Festival Barcelona, taking place on June 13 and 14, which is expected to run as planned and announced its lineup yesterday with performances by Anyma, Mind Against, Kevin De Vries, Mrak, Camelphat, Gordon and more.

Anyma recently headlined Sphere in Las Vegas, marking the first dance music residency in the venue. Anyma is booked by CAA’s Ferry Rais-Shaghagi. Among the eight Sphere dates submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice reports, his shows sold 138,632 tickets grossing $21 million. Four dates at Sphere have yet to be submitted to Pollstar’s records.
