Paléo Festival Switzerland Sells Out 200,000 Tickets In 13 Minutes

Paléo Festival announced that all of the 200,000-plus tickets available for its 2025 edition, scheduled to go down in Nyon, Switzerland, July 22-27, have sold out in 13 minutes.
It’s a new record, beating the 21 minutes it took fans to snatch up all available tickets last year.
Fans who’ve missed out on tickets for what will be the 48th edition of Paléo can check out Paléo’s own ticket exchange from April 2, where ticket buyers who end up not being able to make it can put up their tickets for sale. It’s a reliable way to secure a face value ticket after all.
During the festival, 1,500 extra day tickets will be made available on each day of Paléo.
Selling out more than 200,000 tickets in less than a quarter of an hour for an outdoor festival is an astonishing feat, and one that confirms what many professionals in this biz have been saying all along: an event that has been building a very loyal fanbase through offering an unmatched experience consistently over the years will be able to navigate the post-pandemic economy – even if you’re forced to increase ticket prices to maintain the level of production visitors have gotten used to.
Festivals, given their nature, feel the increased production costs as well as increasing artist fees the most, of course. Paléo had to increase tickets prices by 5% this year to offset these costs. It marked the first increase since 2022, even though inflation has been rampant since COVID.
For Paléo, a not-for-profit, non-subsidized event, ticket sales make up for 50% of it annual budget, a Paléo rep told Pollstar.
In concrete numbers prices for a day ticket for the 2025 edition of Paléo have increase by CHF 4 ($4.50), and CHF 20 ($23) for a week’s pass. Children under 12 can come for free, while teenagers between 12 and 17, students apprentices, senior citizens, the disabled, and the unemployed pay a significantly reduced fee.
Despite the price increase, Paléo tickets 10 to 12% cheaper on average than elsewhere in Switzerland, according to the Swiss promoters association SMPA.
Given the 16 to 17 concerts that take place across the festival site per day, the incredible f&b offering Paléo has built a reputation for, and free general camping, it’s an undeniably good value for money.
What is more, a 5% ticket price increase is comparatively low. According to SMPA data, the average price of concert tickets in Switzerland has risen by 12% since 2022.
The lineup of Paléo 2025 is as diverse as ever, with rock legends like Queens of the Stone Age, or Sex Pistols ft. Frank Carter, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Macklemore, Will Smith, French-speaking rap tycoons Ninho & Niska, or SDM, pop icons like Clara Luciani, or Zaho de Sagazan, electro heavyweights David Guetta, or Justice).
A total of 120 artists hailing from some 30 countries will perform on one of Paléo’s stages this summer.
