Sparks Release New Music, Add North American Leg To ‘MAD! Tour’

With a new album on the horizon, pop rock duo Sparks announced additional shows in Europe as well as a North American leg to their “MAD! Tour,” which runs from June through the end of September.
Sparks, comprising brothers Ron and Russell Mael, also dropped a new single, “Drowned in a Sea of Tears,” from the upcoming album MAD!, which will be released May 23 via Transgressive Records.
The band previously announced shows in Japan and Europe in June and July, and the updated routing now includes concerts in Bilbao, Spain; Dublin, Ireland; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Wolverhampton, England. The Sparks brothers kick off the North American leg of their tour at Tabernacle in Atlanta on Sept. 5, and the tour includes stops at Wasington, D.C.’s Lincoln Theatre, Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, Toronto’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Moore Theatre in Seattle and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Theatre. They wrap up with a hometown show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Sept. 30.
Tickets for newly announced shows go on sale April 11 at 10 a.m. local time. For information about the tour and tickets, visit the band’s website, allsparks.com.
Since the release of the acclaimed 2021 documentary “The Sparks Brothers” directed by Edgar Wright, many have developed a newfound appreciation for the quirky duo. The band found success on the road since then, selling out shows and performing in major festivals like Big Ears, Primavera Sound and Glastonbury.
One of Sparks’ most successful outings was a concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on June 27, 2023. The show grossed $162,634 off 2,301 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
Sparks are booked by Sam Hunt of Wasserman Music in North and South America and Asia.
