Ed Sheeran, Weezer Added To Coachella Lineup

Ed Sheeran and Weezer are heading to the desert.
The English singer-songwriter and the bespectacled rockers are last-minute additions to the Coachella lineup, as Goldenvoice was faced with three late cancelations: avant-popper FKA Twigs, New Jersey hardcore act Gel and Brazilian singer Anitta have all pulled out for various reasons.
The fill-in spots will be a bit of an underplay for both Sheeran and Weezer: they are slated to play the smaller Mojave stage at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Sheeran on Weekend One, Weezer on Weekend Two).
FKA Twigs had to cancel North American dates on her “Eusexua” tour citing visa issues with her production team. At first, she rescheduled those dates before ultimately announcing they’d be canceled altogether. Gel broke up last month, citing “heinous acts” causing “irreparable damage.” Annita cited “personal reasons” for her withdrawl.
Weekend One of the Goldenvoice-produced Coachella begins April 11. Weekend Two follows two weeks later.
