Rhino Staging Hires Jacob Worek As Director of Safety

Rhino Staging announced the hiring of live event safety professional Jacob Worek as its new national director of safety. He officially assumed his role on April 1, bringing more than two decades of experience.
โWe know Jacob well from his years with the Event Safety Alliance, a group Rhino has closely coordinated with since its inception,โ Rhino Founder and CEO Jeff Giek said in a statement. โHe is a deeply experienced and knowledgeable safety professional and we can count ourselves fortunate to have him join us.โ
Worek is a BCSP-certified Safety Management Professional who previously served as director of operations for the Event Safety Alliance, a position he held for 12 years in which he oversaw business operations and helped create and implement the organizationโs education, training, guidance and outreach programs.
He has also developed courses and taught at UC San Diegoโs certificate program and served as a safety advisor for live events like concerts, music festivals, marketing activations and motorsports events.
In addition to his work and teaching, Worek is a member of the operations team for Global Crowd Management Alliance, which aims to improve crowd safety through education and advocacy.
โSafety is about more than compliance โ itโs about culture and a genuine desire to protect and support people,โ Worek said in the release announcing his hiring. โRhino shares this belief, and it permeates every aspect of the organization. Their commitment to safety and care for their crews is unparalleled, and Iโm excited to be part of the team and support the people who make the magic happen.โ
Rhino is based in Tempe, Arizona, and is a major provider of stage and rigging crews for live events in the U.S. The company currently has 16 regional offices and 6,000 specialized crew members who worked on over 25,000 events last year.
