The Crocodile, Seattle’s Waterfront Park Team Up For ‘Oodalalee – Concerts At Pier 62’ Concert Series

Seattle rock club The Crocodile announced the first wave of artists performing at its new summer concert series at Seattle’s Waterfront Park, which was recently renovated, with acts like Silversun Pickups and Hermanos Gutiérrez. The shows will take place at the iconic Pier 62, a site that hasn’t held a large-scale, ticketed concert series in two decades.
The “Oodalalee – Concerts at Pier 62” series will boast a 2,500-capacity space and a stage with views of the city’s downtown skyline and mountain ranges. The concert series kicks off June 1 with Hermanos Gutiérrez, and other artists announced so far include Queer Pier Pride (June 29), Watchhouse (July 16), Deltron 3030 (July 19), Cosmo Sheldrake (July 22) and Otoboke Beaver (Aug. 3). Additional artists will be announced at a later date.
“Concerts at Pier 62 were such a vital part of Seattle’s music ecosystem… I have warm memories of attending shows on the waterfront and know many others in our community do as well,” The Crocodile’s Creative Director Hunter Motto said in a statement. “We’re overjoyed to bring our favorite local, national, and international artists to Pier 62 – it’s a magical and historic place!”
The new series of shows is an ode to the “Summer Nights at the Pier” concerts held on Pier 62 in the 1990s and early 2000s, which featured hosted iconic acts like Johnny Cash, James Brown, Lauryn Hill, Davd Byrne, Ray Charles and many more. Concerts were no longer viable at that site because the pier was deteriorating and could no longer safely support a large crowd, but recent renovations at Pier 62 replaced wooden supports with 175 steel legs and a floating dock was added as well.
The multibillion-dollar renovations at Seattle’s Waterfront Park, a public space managed and programmed by the nonprofit Friends of Waterfront Park, are part of a multi-phase project that aims to reconnect the area with Downtown Seattle and make it a vibrant, inviting public space.
The Crocodile and the Seattle Waterfront are iconic, legendary sites in Seattle and are essential to moving the city forward while honoring the past. The Crocodile relocated from its old home and expanded into a multi-venue and hotel complex a few blocks away from the original club, and the venue’s team is doing its part to usher in a new era of live music at Pier 62.
“Seattle has always cherished live music at the waterfront, and Oodalalee adds a new chapter to that tradition,” said Joy Shigaki, President and CEO of Friends of Waterfront Park. “We’re excited to welcome a new generation of concertgoers to Pier 62—and to remind everyone that Waterfront Park is a place where music, community, and civic life come together at the water’s edge.”
Tickets for the shows announced are now on sale and can be purchased via the concert series website, Oodalalee.com.
