Darts Sells 14,000 Tickets At AO Arena Manchester

The PDC’s BetMGM Premier League Darts attracted a record crowd of 14,000 to AO Arena last week – the highest ticket sales in the tournament’s history at the venue.
“With an atmosphere that was nothing short of electric and an astonishing 14,000 tickets sold, the event was the fastest-selling PDC night ever in Manchester, with the majority of tickets snapped up during the pre-sale period alone,” a press release states.
Fans witnessed a nine-dart finish from Gerwyn Price and victory for Stockport-born Nathan Aspinall.
PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: “Manchester was absolutely amazing! Premier League Darts is going from strength to strength every year, and last week’s crowd at the AO Arena was record-breaking – our biggest live crowd yet in 2025, and they were treated to a memorable night.”
AO Arena general manager Gemma Vaughan added, “We absolutely love hosting Premier League Darts at the AO Arena. It’s the event of the year that both of our audiences and staff look forward to so much. The city comes alive and it’s wonderful to see all the local bars, restaurants and venues full before the show with people dressed up in some weird and wonderful costumes. Last week’s event was no exception and we’re incredibly proud to have played a part in this epic night for the Premier League Darts.”
As the Premier League continues to grow in global popularity and demand at an all-time-high, the Manchester leg proves that darts is evolving into a full-scale sporting spectacle with a truly global reach.
AO Arena has hosted Premier League Darts since 2008, with the 2025 visit being the first under a new three-year contract to keep the tournament until at least 2027.
This isn’t the first record break to take place at the AO Arena. Others include the Davis Cup in September, which brought in over 37,000 fans across the tournament, and Netball, with local team Manchester Thunder drawing its biggest crowds in history. Kylie Minogue will becomes AO Arena’s most played female artists as the Tension Tour arrives, and Take That became the venue’s most played band last May with their 5-date run taking their record up to 50 shows. The five shows, which took place between May 7-12, sold 60,081 tickets, and grossed $7,421,456, according to the box office reports submitted to Pollstar. Finally, there’s Peter Kay’s ongoing record-breaking residency, which is selling out the venue on a regular basis.
