A new music festival featuring barbecue and country and Americana acts is coming to Temple, Texas, this fall. The city and live event producer Soundskilz teamed up to form the Tanglefoot Music & BBQ Festival, which will feature Parker McCollum and Cody Jinks as headliners and takes place Sept. 12-13 at MLK Festival Grounds in Downtown Temple.

The two-day event will showcase more than 20 country and Americana musicians from the Lone Star State, including Robert Earl Keen, Randy Rogers Band, Corey Kent, Mark Chesnutt, Jack Ingram, Silverada, The Wilder Blue, Shelby Stone, The Droptines and more.

Tickets go on sale April 25 at 10 a.m. CST, and they will be available at TanglefootTX.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase their passes early because prices will increase as the festival date approaches, and children less than 5 years old will be admitted at no cost.

In addition to the music, ticketholders can enjoy barbecue from some of the county’s most popular pitmasters, who will travel to Temple for a pop-up to cook BBQ cuisine from Texas, Kansas City, Memphis and Carolina.

Temple and Soundskilz aim to “create a lasting cultural celebration each fall that evokes a sense of pride amongst residents and ultimately boosts the local economy with out-of-town visitors spending dollars locally,” according to a release announcing the event.
