Ongoing construction at the Arena Guadalajara has forced the cancellation of two Katy Perry “Lifetimes” tour shows there.

Fresh from a space flight, the singer posted on Instagram a message from the venue that her two shows, set for May 1 and 2, as well as an April 25 concert by Carlos Rivera and an April 26 performance by Intocable were off.

“Last week, I sent my team to the Arena to make sure there wasn’t anything we could do to make this happen but it was evident when they arrived the venue was not ready or safe to receive my show or an audience,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

“I wish I could fix this but it is beyond my control,” she continued. “You guys mean the world to me and we have all been on such a beautiful journey together that I will be thinking about how I can create something special for the fans in Guadalajara in the future.”

The tour begins Wednesday in Mexico City, the first of what is now five dates in Mexico; those shows are being promoted by Zignia. The first leg of her U.S. tour — which is promoted by Live Nation — runs from May 7 to May 2 1 before Perry heads to Australia through the month of June. She returns stateside on July 12 at Phoenix, Arizona’s Footprint Center before hopping the Canadian border in late July and early August. She returns to the U.S. on Aug. 3 for a show in Detroit, before wrapping up her Canadian leg on Aug. 6 in Toronto. On Aug. 8, she returns to the U.S. once again for a show at TD Garden in Boston on Aug. 8, continuing on through Aug. 23 at Miami’s Kaseya Center. The tour then heads to South America and Europe.

Perry is booked by CAA’s Mitch Rose in the U.S. and Canada and CAA’s Emma Banks elsewhere. She’s managed by Direct Management Group’s Bradford Cobb and Steve Jensen.

Among 312 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice since 2007, Perry has sold 4.1 million tickets grossing $369.5 million in total. She recently had a residency at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, which averaged a gross of $493,613 per night from April 12, 2023 to Oct. 31, 2023.
