The evening includes standout performers and a rare collaboration with 14-time Grammy winner Emmylou Harris, her Wrecking Ball producer and Grammy winner Daniel Lanois along with jazz drummer Brian Blade. Additional performers include percussionist and wife of Carlos Santana Cindy Blackman; soul legend Eddie Floyd; drummer of power-pop band Big Star Jody Stephens; Grammy winner Ledisi; Grammy winning actor and singer Leslie Odom Jr.; guitar virtuoso Orianthi; as well as previously announced performer, Grammy-winning composer and bandleader Jon Batiste.
Notably, Harris, Floyd and Stephens all have recordings that are being inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. Each performance will celebrate one of this year’s Grammy Hall Of Fame inductees, with more performers and details surrounding specific tributes to be announced.
The Grammy Hall Of Fame was established by the Recording Academy’s National Trustees in 1973. The inducted recordings are selected annually by a special member committee of knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts with final ratification by the Recording Academy’s National Board of Trustees. With 13 new titles, the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame currently totals 1,165 inducted recordings.
