Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis launched his cold brew, Jolene, debuts across Live Nation festivals and venues in North America. The company is a collaboration alongside Kiedis’ longtime friend, Shane Powers, and sees them teaming up with h.wood Group Founder John Terzian with two flavors – Black (cold brew_ and White (an oat milk latte).

“Shane shouted at me down the sidewalk, ‘Let’s do something!'” Keidis said in a statement. “I shouted back ‘How ’bout coffee?’ He said ‘done.’ And so began the adventure of putting a high-quality spin on a can of coffee. Now it’s time to put on some aprons and serve the world some delicious coffee. Simple and fun.”

The coffee sources its beans directly from an all-female co-op in Peru, with the women farmers receiving direct confirmation and the necessary resources to uplift their communities. James Morrissey, founder and CEO of Global Brand Equities, led the liquid development process to ensure the perfect blend and taste.

“Creating a coffee of the highest quality taste and ingredient mix was a priority from the outset,” Morrissey said in a statement. “We spent a lot of time with Anthony, Shane and John tasting many rounds until we landed on the perfect blend with Jolene. Any successful brand must start with a great product that can resonate with consumers, and Jolene delivers.”

The brew is available directly online, at select retailers in Los Angeles and New York City, and at 40 Live Nation amphitheaters across 23 states including famed venues like the Gorge Amphitheater, Northwell at Jones Beach Theater and Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront. Select venues will also incorporate the cold brew into four premium cocktails. Live Nation’s Global Brand Equities, alongside John Terzian, have made equity investments in Jolene. Live Nation also joined in as a partner.

“Fans want options that fit the pace and energy of live music,” Russell Wallach, Global President of Live Nation, Media & Sponsorships, said in a statement. “Cold brew has come up again and again, and Jolene delivers – it’s high quality, easy to enjoy and adds something new to the fan experience. It’s one more way we’re evolving to meet what fans are asking for.”

Kiedis and Powers share that they often enjoy one another’s company over a cup of coffee, sharing the philosphy “everything happens over coffee.”

“I’ve been extremely lucky to have had a lot of life experience,” Powers said in a statement. “The adventure of visualizing Jolene with Anthony from inception, to the execution with John and James, to the realization with Michael leaves me with a ton of gratitude. Like everything important in my life, this new experience will be shared with people over great coffee.”

The Jolene coffee brand has been in conception for more than five years, with Kiedis and Powers approaching Terzian to help them bring their vision to life and to live music venues.

“I have been in the business of people for the past two decades and one of the few things that everyone has in common is coffee,” Terzian said in a statement. “Whether it’s celebrating, commiserating or just catching up, coffee is the common denominator. When Anthony and Shane came to me about Jolene, it was an instant mutual vision. Over five years ago we set out to create the best quality canned coffee for everyone and it did not waver until we achieved that goal.”
