Fly Smart. Land Happy: Alaska Airlines Upgrades Coachella & Stagecoach Fan Experience

Whether you’re at a festival or flying high above the clouds, there’s nothing like the VIP life. Who doesn’t love awesome perks? As the official airline of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival, Alaska Airlines delivered a “First Class festival experience” for its Alaska Mileage Plan members who attended the events, which took place over three weekends in Indio, California, in April.

As the official airline of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival, we’re excited to be a part of two of the most exciting music and art festivals of the year while rewarding our loyal Mileage Plan members with experiences that match the energy and excitement of these incredible events,” Eric Edge, vice president of Brand and Marketing at Alaska Airlines, said in a statement.
Every afternoon and evening Alaska Airlines hosted its “Cloud Social” happy hour, featuring Passion Orange Guava (POG) juice – the same served onboard Hawaiian Airlines flights – or a cold brew, along with pretzels and specialty cookies made in Hawaii. There were plenty of opportunities for selfies in Alaska’s hangout spot described as a “technicolor cloudscape,” from posing in a mirrored tunnel glowing with LED lights or chilling in the clouds.
Alaska Airlines also stocked up a vending machine with prizes including one giveaway daily for Alaska Mileage Plan members and credit card holders in which a lucky guest could win “the ultimate festival upgrade, featuring VIP treatment and access to the most exclusive viewing area at the festival that’s normally reserved for the performing main stage artist and their friends.”
Fans could sign up to become an Alaska Mileage Plan member for free at alaskaair.com or onsite at the Alaska cloudscape experience.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan benefits include earning one mile for every mile flown to any of 120+ destinations on Alaska flights (excluding Saver fares booked in X class), with benefits starting at 20,000 miles – including complimentary upgrades.
