Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) unveiled more of its major investment in downtown Washington, D.C., detailing Capital One Arena’s new luxury suite offerings.

The sports and venue management company — which owns the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics — announced that part of the $800-plus million renovations to the D.C. arena is the construction of Founder Suites, Signature Suites and Executive Suites, all of which will open in time for the 2026-27 season.

Though the total number of suites will be reduced for larger, more luxurious spaces, MSE promises to completely reimagined offerings that will provide modern and hospitality-driven VIP experiences. It also provides customers with more flexibility, allowing them to choose the experience that best suits their group. Architecture firm Gensler will be designing the renovations.

There will be four new VIP entrances, private escalators, expanded parking and a full-service concierge team. Aramark Sports and Entertainment will curate the culinary experience for each suite as well as 30-plus rentable spaces in the arena’s new lofts and conference center.

The Founder Suites will be over 525 square feet, the largest luxury spaces in the arena, and located on the 100 level. The spaces can accommodate up to 23 guests and will boast views from the arena floor, rich wood paneling and exclusive zones for dining, lounging and game viewing.

Signature and Executive Suites will be positioned on the 300 level of the arena. Signature will offer views of center ice, court and stage for up to 22 guests, and its design is inspired by D.C.’s architectural landmarks. The Executive Suites, with their design inspired by the architecture of the Supreme Court, are just over 310 square feet, offering an elevated experience to 18 guests.

MSE also announced that the Grand Pavilion will offer a secondary main entrance to the building, providing access to all levels of the building, which will facilitate crowd flow and create more social opportunities for guests to enjoy food, beverages and entertainment.

“As part of our brand-new building, we are completely reinventing what the premium experience looks like,” Jim Van Stone, MSE president of business operations and chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “Inspired by the luxury of the world’s finest hotels, we are combining premier hospitality spaces with access to top sports and entertainment events. We are recreating the entire facility from the ground up, including a full transformation of every suite, to deliver VIP fan experiences that are unmatched in the region in terms of décor, culinary and beverage service, and hospitality. Our new suites are not only ideal for entertaining at world-class events but also serve as powerful environments for commercial partners to host clients, build relationships, and drive business in a vibrant, high-energy setting, each designed with a unique purpose.”

Construction is already underway to make a high-tech, high-touch building. Capital One Arena’s transformation includes a 65% increase in concession space, 30% more restrooms, expanded entrances and wider concourses. MSE plans to make the arena a cultural and commercial hub for the downtown D.C. area that operates every single day with more than 30 private state-of-the-art spaces supporting events, meetings and full-scale conferences.

“This comprehensive transformation is one of the most exciting projects we’ve been a part of, and it will set a new standard for how fans enjoy basketball, hockey, and live entertainment in the heart of the nation’s capital,” said Andrew Jacobs, design director for Gensler. “We’re bringing a new level to Capital One Arena—rethinking everything from the overall ambiance to the smallest touchpoints, including the finishes, furnishings, and even the smallwares to elevate the guest experience and set a new standard of the hospitality expectations within this world-class venue.”
