Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ Fall Book Tour Announced: An Evening of Tales, Tunes and Other Mysteries

Yusuf / Cat Stevens will embark on a limited run of special live events across North America this fall to coincide with the release of his his memoir Cat On The Road To Findout.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour begins Oct. 2 at The Met Philadelphia and includes stops in Chicago, Boston, Toronto, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Leading up to the North American dates, Stevens will stage seven events in the U.K. beginning Sept. 6 in Cambridge.
Tickets will be available starting May 21 at 10:00 AM local time with an official artist presale that will also include book bundles with tickets. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale May 23 at 10:00 AM local.
The tour will use Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange for all resale and make tickets mobile only and restricted from transfer. This means if fans purchase tickets and can no longer attend, they’ll have the option to resell them to other fans at the original price paid on Ticketmaster. This applies to all shows except those in Illinois and New York, where Face Value Exchange cannot be mandated. Stevens’ manager is Yoriyos Adamos and his WME agents are Tony Goldring and Robby Fraser.
Each night, Stevens will engage the audience with an in-depth conversation about the memoir, which chronicles his evolution from pop icon to spiritual explorer. More than a book tour, “Cat On The Road To Findout – An Evening Of Tales, Tunes And Other Mysteries” will also feature select unplugged performances of songs that shaped a generation and inspired Stevens’ personal journey. The limited and intimate tour follows the popular and critical success of Stevens’ 2016-2017 “A Cat’s Attic” tour.
Cat on the Road to Findout will be published in hardback, eBook, and audiobook format by Genesis Publications in North America on Oct. 7 and by Constable in the U.K. on Sept. 18.
Speaking about the book tour, Stevens said: “Having passed through the exhaustingly complex maze of everyday material life, ascending the dizzying heights of wealth, recognition and artistic achievements, I think I’ve got a few things to share. Keeping an open mind was part of the nature I instinctively maintained as a creative songwriter. Nothing was off-bounds. Music was a way of discovering my purpose within the universe. I just kept on exploring, reading, and learning more, ignoring myths and warnings and crossing dangerous-looking bridges into the vast ranges of philosophies and through the veils of the spiritual unknown.”
Cat On The Road To Findout provides context and insight into Stevens’ transformation from ‘60s pop chart-topper to his near-fatal battle with tuberculosis and his subsequent career in the ‘70s as a singer/songwriter with hits such as “Wild World,” “Father and Son,” “Peace Train” and “Morning Has Broken.”
“Now I have written a book which explains what I’ve learned and the stories along the way,” continued Stevens in a release. “That doesn’t make me a teacher, but more of a potential specimen for those who are searching and pursuing happiness on all sides of the divide. Believe me, folks, it’s out there!”
