The 94th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will close March 22, 2026, with a full-length concert performance by Cody Johnson. Johnson will be the second entertainer to have a concert-only event at the three-week RodeoHouston showcase of agriculture, Western heritage and headline entertainers.
“Over the years, Cody has become a part of our beloved tradition – from captivating thousands year-after-year to recording RodeoHouston’s official brand anthem,” said Chris Boleman, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo president and CEO in a statement. “We are thrilled he is just as honored as we are to return in 2026.”
The Texas native and multi-Platinum artist has performed at RodeoHouston five times including 2017 through 2019, 2022 and 2023. His song ‘Welcome to the Show’ debuted in 2019 and was written and recorded to serve as RodeoHouston’s official anthem. A consistent fan favorite, 73K people attended his 2023 performance. On March 6, 2024, Johnson made a surprise appearance during Jelly Roll’s rodeo performance.
“Every performance at RodeoHouston is a privilege and as a rodeo man at heart, being asked to perform on a special night like this surpasses any of my wildest dreams,” said Johnson in a release.
Nightly concerts are typically truncated after a night of rodeo competition. Johnson’s full-length concert will be the first since George Strait performed on the final night in 2022. Individual tickets for Johnson’s concert-only performance go on sale to the public on Aug. 21. The remaining 2026 entertainer lineup will be announced early next year. The 2026 Rodeo is scheduled for March 2-22.
Since beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has promoted agriculture and Western heritage with more than $630 million donated to education and the youth of Texas.
