Metallica Announces 2026 European Stadium Dates

Metallica is taking its “M72 World Tour” into 2026 with today’s announcement featuring a return to Europe next spring and summer including some cities the band hasn’t been to yet. The band will be joined by Pantera, Gojira, Knocked Loose and Avatar on select dates.
Today’s announcement explains that the 2026 “production will feature the same unique stadium production at mid-field in-the-round, with the Snake Pit in the center of the stage providing a complete 360° view of the show. We’re excited to continue the now-tradition of No Repeat Weekends and will also have a mix of some One Night Only shows.”
The 2026 European leg, which is produced by Live Nation, starts May 9 at Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece – marking Metallica’s first time playing the city since 2010. The routing also boasts the band’s first time performing in Chorzów, Poland since 2008 and its first show in Cardiff, Wales, since 1996, along with stops in Bucharest, Zurich, Berlin, Bologna, and Glasgow.
The “No Repeat Weekend” shows are booked in Frankfurt, Budapest, Dublin, and London and will feature a unique experience each night with two totally different set lists spanning Metallica’s 40+year career with two different sets of support acts. Fan Club presales start on Tuesday, May 27, with the first one at 9 a.m.local time. Following a number of other presales throughout the week, the general onsale begins Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. local time. No Repeat Weekend 2-Day discounted tickets and One Night Only tickets will be available, as well as the “I Disappear Ticket” for fans who’d like to attend every “M72” 2026 show in Europe. Metallica is also offering “Enhanced Experiences” including perks such as access to a meet and greet, production and stage tour; food and beverage in the Black Box Lounge; and early entry into the venue and Snake Pit.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Since being established in 2017 All Within My Hands has raised over $20 million including $11.4 million in grants to career and technical education programs, over $7.4 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $4.7 million for disaster relief efforts.
Metallica is managed by Q Prime’s Peter Mensch and Cliff Burnstein. The band’s agents in North America are IAG’s Dennis Arfa and Adam Kornfeld. As for the rest of the world, Metallica is booked by K2 Agency’s John Jackson.
The band ranked No. 9 on Pollstar’s 2024 Top Worldwide Tours chart with a gross of $179.4 million, selling an average of 62,512 tickets per show and grossing an average of $7,479,043 per night.
Metallica is currently touring North America. After playing Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio, earlier this month, the band’s next shows are booked at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field May 23 and 25.
