The Weeknd Lands On Artist Power Index After Resuming World Tour

The Weeknd returns to the Artist Power Index after kicking off the final leg of his long running “After Hours til Dawn Stadium Tour” in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 9. With a sellout crowd of 58,209 in attendance at State Farm Stadium, he began his final sweep of 43 stadium dates booked throughout the summer in North American cities. He is currently set to wrap the tour in San Antonio, Texas in September.
The Canadian pop star is ranked No. 3 overall on APX based on boxoffice activity at the first three North American concerts that land in the chart’s eligibility timeframe. Following his concert in the Phoenix market, he also performed on back-to-back nights at Ford Field in Detroit, May 24-25. Together, those three shows earn the 29th highest Live score of the week, but he lands among the top five in two of the other chart metrics. He has the highest Streaming score of any performer on the chart and also earns the fifth highest Airplay ranking.
The ”After Hours til Dawn” trek launched on July 14, 2022, beginning with an initial North American leg that stretched through November of that year. He went on to perform in Europe, South America and Australia as well, racking up almost $400 million from over 3.5 million sold tickets, according to boxoffice totals reported for 69 concerts worldwide.
The No. 1 ranking on the Artist Power Index belongs to Lady Gaga who tops the chart for a third consecutive week following her massive concert engagements earlier this year in Mexico, Brazil and Singapore. The shows precede the launch of her eighth concert tour, dubbed “The Mayhem Ball.” She will begin the upcoming trek through North America, Europe and Australia in mid-July.
Two country stars make their debut appearance on the Artist Power Index, beginning with Jason Aldean who hits the chart at No. 35 following the launch of his “Full Throttle Tour 2025” on May 23 at Blossom Music Center at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. With Nate Smith, RaeLynn and Dee Jay Silver set as show openers, he will perform primarily at outdoor amphitheaters this year, yet arena and stadium dates in select markets are also booked on his tour.
Then, 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Chesney also makes his first appearance on the Artist Power Index this year, landing at No. 39 with the launch of his 15-show residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. His engagement at the venue began on May 22 and is scheduled to run through June 21.
On LIVE75, more than 41 percent of the artists on the chart are making a debut appearance this week, with four of the 31 new entries counted among the top 10. Ranked highest among them is Shakira at No. 3 with a ticket sales average of 31,166 from six performances, three of them at stadiums and three in arenas. The most tickets were sold in the New York City area with attendance at MetLife Stadium reaching 99,876 from sold-out shows on May 15 and 16.
Following at No. 4 are Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, entering the lineup after ticket sales were reported from three concerts, May 14 through 20, at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. With a total of 52,844 tickets sold at the arena, the shows marked the final U.K. appearance on the world tour that launched early in 2023 and ran through 2024. A final string of dates this year features shows at venues in six European countries, with a tour finale planned for July 3 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.
Leading the pack on LIVE75 is Beyoncé who jumps three positions to claim the No. 1 ranking with a sold-ticket average of 45,049 from the first eight performances on her “Cowboy Carter Tour.” Five shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and three at Chicago’s Soldier Field moved a combined total of 360,399 tickets and grossed $98.2 million, an average of $12.3 million per show. That earns Bey “Heavy Hitter” status for having the largest gross average of the week, topping No. 2-ranked Post Malone’s average gross from 11 concerts – the second highest average on the chart – by $4.9 million.
