France Music Week Summit Heading To Paris

France Music Week is scheduled to premiere in the French capital Paris, June 14-20, with the France Music Week Summit – a day of sessions and discussions with some of the world’s leading music professionals – rounding things off on the last day.
One hundred professionals shaping the world of music are set to come together at the Palais Garnier, home to the Paris Opéra, to debate, discuss, and educate about the issues facing the music sector, and in front of “an audience made up of French and international music leaders,” according to a press release.
Topics touching the live music, phonographic, and music publishing sectors will range from digital transformation; new business models; the distribution of value between artists, platforms and live players, and more.

French minister of culture, Rachida Dati, will kick things off on the day, after which leading figures from all sectors of the music industry will take over. The program features Lyor Cohen (global director of music, YouTube), Dustee Jenkins (global director of public affairs, Spotify, Alexis Lanternier (managing director, Deezer), Denis Ladegaillerie (managing director, Believe), John Reid (chairman, Live Nation Entertainment), Vanessa Reed (managing director designate, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic) Robert Kyncl (CEO, Warner Music), Pedro Winter (artist, founder, Ed Banger Records), Cécile Rap-Veber (managing director, Sacem), Jody Gerson (managing director, Universal Music Publishing Group), and many more.
What is more, renowned artists such as Camille and Clément Ducol will speak on behalf of the creative community, and describe how the major changes in the industry are impacting their work.
The day will conclude at the Palais de l’Elysée, the president’s office, in the presence of French president Emmanuel Macron for a closing ceremony. To close the France Music Week out, there will be a concert for the general public, free of charge, held at the Jardins du Louvre, and broadcast live by France Télévisions.
Confirmed artists include Christine and the Queens, Jeanne Added, Kalash, La Femme, Malik Djoudi, Solann, cellist Sol Gabetta, and Youssef Swatt’s. More names are to be announced.
