With severe rainfall today and more expected this weekend, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival organizers announced online that the final three days of the event at Grand Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee, have been canceled.

The four-day festival organized by C3 Presents saw heavy rainfall Friday, and early performances from acts like Mannequin Pussy, Slightly Stoopid and Ginger Root were canceled. The severe weather and flooding also forced attendees to evacuate the area and seek shelter at the recommendation of festival organizers. Bonnaroo posted a statement on social media and its website Friday evening informing fans that the National Weather Service forecasts “significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days.”

“We are gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo,” officials from the festival wrote at 7:40 p.m.

Fans who purchased single-day passes via Front Gate Tickets for Friday, Saturday or Sunday will receive a refund, and those with four-day passes will receive a 75% refund. Fans who bought four-day camping accommodations will receive a 75% refund. They will be processed “in as little as 30 days,” festival organizers said.

“We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision,” the festival added. “Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.”

The thunderstorms has made it difficult for some of those who are camping at the site, and organizers are prioritizing getting them out as soon as this evening, especially those with accessibility needs.

“To do this, we ask that if your campsite is in good shape or if you’re in an RV or pre-pitched accommodation, please consider spending the night with us and we’ll start working to get you out of here safely tomorrow,” the festival wrote.

Bonnaroo kicked off on June 12 with Luke Combs and Dom Dolla headlining and acts like Marcus King, Sammy Virji, Rebecca Black, Insane Clown Posse, Tractorbeam and Joey Valence & Brae also on the bill.

Other headliners who were scheduled to perform this weekend included Tyler, The Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, Hozier, Avril Lavigne, John Summit, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age, Justice and Glass Animals.

The massively popular festival was last canceled in 2021 due to flooding from Hurricane Ida and in 2020 because of COVID-19.
