Gary Numan Announces ‘Telekon 45th Anniversary’ UK Tour & Glastonbury Show

Electronic music pioneer Gary Numan has announced a UK tour this autumn to celebrate the 45th anniversary of his seminal album Telekon.
The tour kicks off at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, Nov. 11, followed by fifteen dates across the country, concluding with a special headline show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy, Nov. 30.
Telekon, Numan’s second solo record, was released in 1980 on Beggars Banquet, and debuted at the top of the UK albums chart, making it his third consecutive number one album in the UK, if you count his band Tubeway Army’s 1979 release Replicas.
Telekon featured heavy use of guitars, along with strings and lush synthesizer textures, resulting from Numan’s use of additional machines.
Cited by many as an influence, Trent Reznor claimed to have listened to it every day during the making of Nine Inch Nails’ Pretty Hate Machine.
Performing the album live in its entirety, fans can expect to hear classic tracks “We Are Glass”, “I Die: You Die”, and “This Wreckage”, along with a selection of greatest hits from across Numan’s iconic back catalogue.
Numan just announced a new live album, A Perfect Circle: Live, which captures his triumph Intruder live show at Wembley’s OVO Arena in 2022. The record will be released on July 25.
Gary Numan, known for live performances conveying energy and raw emotion, remains a force in music. In 2017, he received the Inspiration Award at the Ivor Novellos, his latest album Intruder was released in 2021 to great acclaim.
This summer will see Gary Numan play Glastonbury for the first time in his storied career, taking the Park Stage, and following a series of sold-out intimate warm-up gigs in the UK.
An extensive U.S. tour kicks off in September, including solo headline shows, as well as dates joining The Psychedelic Furs on their U.S. run. Numan returns to the UK for his newly announced major headline dates in November. Full itinerary below.
Tickets for Gary Numan’s UK dates in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Replicas go on general sale Friday, June 20, at 9 a.m. local time via gigsandtours.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
Numan’s last box office report submitted to Pollstar are two sold-out shows at London’s Roundhouse in 2024 (pictured above), on June 8-9, moving a total 4,716 tickets, and grossing $260,997. Numan is repped by Paladin Artists in North and South America, and Wasserman Music outside the U.S.
