When Janelle Lopez Genzink describes Volara’s accomplishments, she emphasizes how her company is moving this industry forward: “Volara has taken some big steps forward in building the kind of company we want to be. We really focused on bringing in people who share our values while creating more space for female leadership within artist management. Growing the business while staying true to our mission feels like a huge win – and it’s laid the groundwork for even more meaningful work ahead.”

Witness her female-led company’s successes with female artists: Sabrina Carpenter’s stratospheric year coalesced at the Grammys with her stunning performance of “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” channeling Marilyn Monroe’s glamour and cheekiness while winning Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.

“It was a huge moment for everyone who’s been part of her journey,” says Lopez Genzink. “What made it even more special was that we’ve built a genuine career alongside her over time, and it’s paying off in the best way possible.”

Lopez Genzink also cites clients Marina and HAIM as “real highlights” whose “clear artistic visions built amazing careers on their own terms. It’s been incredibly meaningful to join forces and help support the next chapter of their stories.”

Her strategic leadership is readily apparent when asked about today’s uneven economy: “Across the board, we are mindful that ticket sales aren’t always predictable. Because of that, we focus on various income streams – brand deals, syncs, digital content, and of course, direct-to-fan relationships. It’s always been about building a full world for our clients with multiple ways to earn, even when the economy says otherwise. As a small company and team, we know how to be lean and focused. We think long term. How can we build the fan connection and make smart moves instead of fast ones?”

Lopez Genzink says she’s excited for new albums by HAIM and Marina, with accompanying tours. And this summer, Carpenter will headline two BST Hyde Park shows.
