No matter the season, BRAT summer will live on. CAA’s Shirin Nury points to client Charli xcx’s catchphrase that took over the world when asked to name out-of-the-box initiatives that have inspired her: “Charli and the team revolutionized the marketing playbook, and it will be followed for years to come.”

Nury’s big year included major tours from Charli as well as fellow rising stars Gracie Abrams and Tate McRae.

“I am grateful to work with many career artists, most of whom we’ve supported and helped develop from the very beginning,” Nury says.

“Gracie, Tate and Charli all have a clear vision, a deep connection with their fans and have maintained their artistic integrity while achieving global success. It’s been a privilege to work alongside them in amplifying their artistry and ensuring that they can tour sustainably for as long as they want.”

When it comes to any uncertain economic circumstances, Nury says she’s grateful to work with many artists who exist where the touring landscape still feels incredibly strong.

She adds, “That being said, with so many contingencies to plan for, strategy around pricing, timing, marketing and packaging matters now more than ever.”

As for political policies that are continuing to impact the live business, Nury notes that one of the inspiring qualities of many of the artists CAA works with is their continual use of their platform for good.

“The CAA Music Touring Department works hand in hand with CAA Foundation in facilitating the right partnerships across a plethora of organizations, be it Conan Gray with HeadCount, Gracie Abrams with Planned Parenthood or Sharon Van Etten with A New Way of Life,” Nury says.

Looking ahead, Nury says, “I’ve been at CAA for 12 years now and have built a roster and an ecosystem I’m proud of – for me right now, it’s all about how I can continue to add value to my artists’ lives, while utilizing my relationships and time to mentor the next generation and keep us at the top of our game.”
