Bonnaroo Opens Survey On Future Dates, Considers Moving To Fall

Following Bonnaroo’s cancellation during day two of its 2025 event due to severe weather, marking the third time in five years the event has faced cancellations, the festival has opened a survey for fans on the future of the event. Fans can respond whether they’d attend a 2026 festival, or if they’d prefer the event to take place every other year. The festival is also considering moving the event a few weeks later into the summer, or potentially hosting it in late September/early October.
The festival shared the survey on its official social media pages, writing: “Bonnaroovians, we’ve started to plan for the future of Roo and we want to hear from you! First thing we want to look at: when Bonnaroo happens each year and how that affects your experience. Take the survey and let us know what you think. We want you to be a part of this process, so we’ll keep you posted on any updates and likely ask you to weigh in on more considerations in the coming months.”

The festival has faced several challenges in recent years, with a cancellation in 2020 due to COVID, and the 2021 edition moving to Sept. 2-5 before having to cancel due to severe weather and flooding caused by Tropical Depression Ida. In 2022, the festival returned to June and took place as planned. Following 2025’s cancellation, the festival is now offering 100% refunds for attendees of this year’s event.
