Los Angeles will soon have its very own Blue Note Jazz Club in Hollywood. The company behind the iconic New York venue announced that the L.A. location will open its doors Aug. 14 with a star-studded opening season of programming that includes Grammy-winner Robert Glasper, Andra Day, Killer Mike, Ben Folds, esperanaza spalding, Charlie Puth and many more.

Glasper will headline the grand opening of the venue, which is located at 6372 Sunset Blvd. near the iconic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Other artists scheduled to perform at the new venue include Branford Marsalis, GoldLink, Alex Isley, Tank and the Bangas, Ravi Coltrane, Mayer Hawthorne, Charles Lloyd, The Soul Rebels with special guest Too $hort and Kamasi Washington. See the schedule below.

“I’m honored to partner up with Blue Note and open the doors to what will be a significant cultural intersection for the Los Angeles community. Los Angeles has always been a second home to me, and I can’t wait to bring L.A. culture to the Blue Note,” Robert Glasper said in a statement.

The Blue Note Jazz Club in L.A. will offer an intimate setting similar to its Greenwich Village counterpart, which has hosted notable artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson and Carmen McRae as well as rising stars influenced by jazz. The venue in L.A. boasts a main showroom with a capacity of 200 guests and a “B-side” room that accommodates 100 people. Each artist will perform two shows a night at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

The club will have a full-service kitchen and beverage menu, offering weekend brunches and dinner throughout the week. Asaf Maoz of L.A.’s Carmel crafted the food menu and jazz era-inspired cocktails that complement the setting.

“Blue Note LA will focus on curated and consistent, artist-driven programming in that intimate Blue Note Jazz Club vibe that people love,” Alex Kurland, director of programming at Blue Note Entertainment Group, said in a statement. “Blue Note New York has a uniquely New York energy, and for Blue Note LA, it’s important to honor what makes this city’s creative energy and spirit so distinctive. Blue Note embraces the space to collaborate and experience those spontaneous moments that are special. We’re thankful to all the artists and their teams who are a part of this opening season of shows. They’re helping set the tone to launch Blue Note LA.”
