AC/DC Australian Shows Set Ticketek Record; 2nd Shows Added

Homecoming heroes AC/DC set records for TEG ticketing agency Ticketek for their “POWER UP Tour” dates in Australia in November and December.
They shifted over 370,000 tickets in the first day of sale in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on June 26, an average of 1,200 each minute.
TEG Van Egmond announced second shows in all three cities within hours.
This TNT explosion set a new all-time high for day sales on the 40-year old Ticketek.
It surpassed the previous record set early June 2025 of over 220,000 for the 2025-26 Men’s Ashes cricket series between England and Australia, according to Cricket Australia.
The numbers also recorded the highest single-day ticket volume in Ticketek history.
That beats the previous biggest concert onsale day, set by AC/DC’s “Black Ice” tour of 2009, which then sold over 650,000 tix in Australia.
The new shows are Nov. 16 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground which has a 100,000-capacity, Nov. 25 at the 83,500-seat Sydney Accor Stadium and Dec. 18 at the 52,500 seat Brisbane Suncorp Stadium.
On June 30, when tix hit the market for Perth’s Dec. 4 show at the 61,266-seat Optus Stadium, “overwhelming demand” saw a second date switched on for Dec. 8.
“This second Perth show will definitely be the final show that will be added to the Australian tour,” Christo Van Egmond said..
“We can confirm that absolutely no further shows will be added to the Australian leg.”
Melbourne rock band Amyl and The Sniffers open on all shows.
