“Oh my God, there’s so many people here I can’t believe my eyes!,” said Olivia Rodrigo as she took to the stage at BST Hyde Park in London, England, in front of 65,000 fans for a sold-out opening night, June 27.

Later in her set she introduced “one of my favourite Brits and one of the best songwriters of all time,” as Ed Sheeran walked onto the stage. The pair walked to the front of the Great Oak Stage’s long runway before launching into their 2011 hit, “The A Team.”

Rodrigo’s 19-song, 90 minutes set featured Rodrigo’s biggest hits, including “Bad Idea Right”, “Traitor”, “Vampire”, “Drivers License”, and “Happier”, and closed with an encore of more of her best-loved tracks, including “Brutal”, “All American Bitch”, “Good 4 U” and “Get Him Back”.

The supporting lineup on a girl-powered day one of the festival featured The Last Dinner Party, girl in red, flowerovlove, Between Friends, Caity Baser, Katie Gregson-MacLeod, Ruti, Florence Road, Aziya, and Déyyess.

Days two and three of BST Hyde Park were both headlined by Zach Bryan, who sold out both nights, as well. “Overtime”, “Dawns”, “Motorcycle Drive By”, “American Nights” all featured on his 23-track, two-hour set.

Bryan headlining one of the UK’s biggest festivals twice speaks volume about the popularity of country music outside of North America, and Bryan rightfully asked his audience on night one: “Isn’t country music the most beautiful thing in the world?”

His band, taking on the drums, bass, a lap-steel guitar, violins, and cellos joined Bryan on stage, as did a six-strong brass band.

For “Hey Driver”, Bryan was joined on stage by Dermot Kennedy, who also led the supporting lineup on both days, June 28-29. The bill on both nights also featured Willow Avalon, Ole 60, Noeline Hofmann, Waylon Wyatt, and more.

BST Hyde Park has two more music-filled weekends lying ahead, with headliners Noah Kahan (July 4), Sabrina Carpenter (July 5-6), Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts (July 11), Stevie Wonder (July 12), and Jeff Lynne’s ELO (July 13) all set to perform.
