Marilyn Manson’s tour in the United Kingdom, scheduled to begin Oct. 29, is already off to a rocky start. The artist’s kickoff show at Brighton Centre was called off amid pressure from a member of Parliament and an organized group protesting the show.

Ticketmaster notified fans who purchased tickets for the Brighton concert that the event was canceled. Manson’s other shows in the U.K. are still listed on the Ticketmaster website, and fans can still purchase tickets for those shows.

The cancelation comes after an online campaign from No Stage for Abusers, which is “against abusive men being given a platform to perform,” urged people to contact venues, promoters and ticket offices to cancel the concert.

Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, was accused by multiple women of sexual assault and domestic violence, an allegation the singer has denied. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the abuse allegations and presented their findings to the district attorney’s office. In January 2025, L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to charge the accused and that the claims were beyond the statute of limitations.

In addition to No Stage for Abusers calling for Manson’s show to be canceled, Member of Parliament Siân Berry wrote an open letter this month to the Brighton and Hove City Council urging them to call of the event because it is “against our city’s well-renowned values … to benefit financially from this performance.”

“Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organisations supporting them, will have very serious concern about this booking and its impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community,” Berry wrote. “Freedom of expression is an important principle that should be defended, including in relation to artists, but there is an obvious risk to community cohesion and the council has separate equalities obligations to foster good relations between people who share protected characteristics and people who do not share them. The Council has a responsibility to take action where there are risks of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.”

He also expressed concern about teenagers as young as 14 attending the event.

“The level and nature of the accusations against Warner are concerning enough alone, but so too is the message sent out by providing a platform for this individual, at our city’s biggest publicly owned venue, and what this will mean to survivors,” he added.

Manson has not commented on the cancellation.

The heavy metal star had a brief, successful European run earlier this year, including a sold-out concert at Eventim Apollo in London that grossed $391,785 off 5,088 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.

MCT Agentur GmbH books Manson’s shows in Europe, and Independent Artist Group represents the artist in other territories.
