After taking a break due to requirements in completing their service periods for the South Korean military, BTS is returning and announced plans for a new album and a world tour set for 2026. The band reunited in a Weverse livestream on July 1 for the first time since all seven members completed their military service requirements.

“We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are,” the boy band said in a video.

The group also announced plans to begin working on new music, with an album expected sometime next year.

“Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music,” the band said. “Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”

Fans have been waiting for the band’s return since Jin first enlisted in December 2022. Over recent months, the band’s members have been teasing their reunion. Their last album took place in 2020 with Be.

The band is managed by HYBE Co. Ltd. On April 15 and 16, they wrapped their last tour at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the shows selling 100,420 tickets, grossing $18 million. With 32 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice between the period of 2015 and 2022, the band has sold 2.1 million tickets, grossing a total $286.3 million.

Jin announced his first solo tour in April, with the trek featuring 18 shows in nine cities across Asia, the U.S. and Europe. The tour kicked off on June 28 and 29 with dates at Goyang Auxiliary Stadium in Goyang, Korea. Further stops include Chiba, Japan; Osaka, Japan; Dallas; Tampa, Newark, New Jersey and London. The tour wraps on Aug. 9 and 10 at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam
