TAIT has acquired Gallagher Staging and Productions, a custom set fabricator and staging provider with locations in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Nashville, and Las Vegas. Today’s announcement notes that the acquisition “will bring together two leaders in live event staging, scenic, structures, and automation and build on a shared vision to craft unforgettable live experiences.”

TAIT was founded in 1978 by Michael Tait, a decade after he was “hired to drive the band YES and all their gear around England in a Ford transit van” and later became the band’s production manager and lighting designer. Since its start as a rock ’n’ roll company, TAIT has expanded its services to include live, brand experience, placemaking, and location-based experience. TAIT, which has 19 offices around the globe, has helped develop productions and experiences in over 30 countries, touching all seven continents. Its partnerships over the years include renowned artists, companies and organizations including Taylor Swift, Cirque Du Soleil, Royal Opera House, Nike, NASA, Bloomberg, Google, Beyoncé, and The Olympics.

Gallagher Staging and Productions was founded in 2011 and offers production staging, custom fabrication, and truss structures for entertainment and special events including concerts, red carpet events, corporate events, film and tv production, expos, activations, and more.

“We’re excited to bring Gallagher into TAIT to expand and strengthen our live entertainment offerings, creating more opportunity to meet clients where they are, no matter the scale of their productions or geography,” Brian Levine, Chief Executive – Live & Brand at TAIT, said in a statement. “We will maintain the same products, technology, and commitment known from both companies while enhancing Gallagher’s offerings across staging and automation and adding a larger presence in Nashville, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area for TAIT.”

Joey Gallagher, CEO of Gallagher Staging and Productions, added: “Joining the TAIT and Gallagher teams feels like the natural next step in our company and builds upon the legacy we’ve created in the industry. We’re excited to bring our partners and clients new access to renowned automation capabilities and overhead rigging that will expand the possibilities for global productions.”

The announcement adds that by teaming up, TAIT and Gallagher “will expand their collective capabilities and capacity to deliver experiences that defy expectations for existing clients and new clients within markets like outdoor festivals and film and TV.”

TAIT was nominated for Tour Services Company of the Year at the 36th annual Pollstar Awards, which took place in April.
